The Voice of The Travel Nurse: Insights from 1000 Travel Nurses on The State of The Profession
As the world’s largest community of travel nurses with an audience of more than 500,000 members across multiple channels including TheGypsyNurse.com and TravCon, the leading healthcare traveler conference, The Gypsy Nurse is uniquely positioned to engage and observe these healthcare travel professionals. While much has been written about full-time staff nurses over the last couple of years, we wanted to provide a resource that specifically examined the unique perspective of travel nurses. As such, we conducted the “Voice of The Travel Nurse” research with over 1,000 in-depth responses from active travel nurses to learn more about thoughts about their jobs – what they like, what they don’t, and their plans to continue working or depart the profession. By understanding their perspectives and feedback more clearly, agencies and healthcare facilities are better able to adjust how to more effectively serve and retain travel nurses. This session, Steve Curtin, CEO of The Gypsy Nurse, will review the findings of the report in-depth, many of which surprisingly challenge the assumed norms and pandemic era narratives around travel nurses including the role of pay, relationships with staff nurses, and the importance of effective communication with agencies.
