Two year allied health education program that is patient care related. Allied health occupations include but are not limited to: diagnostic medical sonographer, radiologic technologist, respiratory therapist, occupational therapist, physical therapist and/or registered nurse preferred.CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: A.R.D.M.S./CCI registered or registry eligible or comparable national accreditation required. State of New Mexico Echo Sonographer License. BLS certification issued through American Heart Association.SKILLS:Ability to communicate effectivelyDemonstrates strong organizational skillsAbility to work collaboratively with others from a variety of disciplinesAbility to work at a rapid pace under stressful conditionsManual dexterity to perform echocardiograms.EXPERIENCE: Two years of actively doing echocardiograms preferred.NATURE OF SUPERVISION:-Responsible to: Director of Cardiovascular ServicesENVIRONMENT:- Bloodborne pathogenCMay be exposed to physical injury, infectious diseases and airborne and blood borne pathogens. Requires knowledge of safety standards to limit exposure to infectious diseases.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Lifting patients, pushing heavy equipment, beds, and carts.
