Key Responsibilities of the Travel Stepdown Registered Nurse:

Provide skilled nursing care to patients transitioning from intensive care to general medical-surgical units

Monitor patients requiring cardiac and hemodynamic observation

Administer medications and titrate drips under physician supervision

Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and progress

Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery expectations

Adhere to hospital policies, infection control procedures, and safety protocols
Requirements of the Travel Stepdown Registered Nurse:

Active RN license (West Virginia or compact state)

BLS certification required

Minimum of 2 years of recent Stepdown or Progressive Care RN experience in an acute care setting

Strong cardiac monitoring, assessment, and critical thinking skills
