Key Responsibilities of the Travel Stepdown Registered Nurse:
- Provide high-quality care to patients requiring close monitoring and frequent assessment
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and clinical status for patients transitioning from ICU-level care
- Administer medications, including IV drips and cardiac medications, as prescribed
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal care outcomes
- Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate care when necessary
- Accurately document patient status using EMR systems
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, recovery, and discharge instructions
Requirements of the Travel Stepdown Registered Nurse:
- Active RN license (West Virginia or compact state)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Stepdown, PCU, or telemetry RN experience in an acute care hospital
- Strong cardiac monitoring, assessment, and critical thinking skills
