Travel Registered Nurse – Psychiatric

Key Responsibilities of the Psychiatric RN:

• Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to patients with acute and chronic behavioral health needs

• Conduct assessments, monitor symptoms, and manage medication administration

• Implement therapeutic interventions and crisis-prevention strategies

• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and support staff

• Maintain a therapeutic environment aligned with trauma-informed care principles

• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient progress in the EMR

Requirements of the Psychiatric RN:

• Active New York RN license (or ability to obtain before start)

• BLS required.

• Minimum ;2 years of recent inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health experience

• Strong de-escalation, communication, and assessment skills

• Ability to work effectively with patients experiencing mental health crises
