Seven Healthcare is seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Psychiatric (MedSurg Psych) Travel Registered Nurse for a reputable hospital in Rochester, New York. This assignment offers a competitive weekly rate of $3,480 based on a 4x12s Day/Evening/Night rotating shift schedule. Key Responsibilities of the MedSurg Psych RN:
- Provide nursing care to patients with co-occurring medical and psychiatric conditions
- Monitor patient status, including both physical and mental health assessments
- Administer medications, including psychotropic medications, and monitor for side effects
- Implement and support behavioral health treatment plans
- Collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, and multidisciplinary care teams
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR
Requirements of the MedSurg Psych RN:
- Active New York RN license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- BLS required (ACLS preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of recent MedSurg and/or psychiatric nursing experience
- Strong assessment, de-escalation, and communication skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts (Days/Evenings/Nights)
