Key Responsibilities of the Geriatric Travel Nurse

• Provide direct patient care to geriatric patients in inpatient, outpatient, or long-term care settings.

• Assess patient health status, develop and implement personalized care plans, and monitor ongoing needs.

• Administer medications and treatments while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment options, and health maintenance.

• Collaborate with physicians, social workers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.

• Accurately document all patient care activities in accordance with facility policies.

• Advocate for patient needs while respecting their dignity and independence.

• Support end-of-life and palliative care initiatives when applicable.

Requirements of the Geriatric Travel Nurse

• Valid North Carolina/Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license.

• Current BLS certification.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a geriatric setting.

• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
