Travel Registered Nurse – CVICU

Key Responsibilities of the Travel CVICU Registered Nurse:

• Provide high-acuity nursing care to post-operative cardiac and thoracic surgery patients

• Monitor and manage patients requiring mechanical ventilation, vasoactive drips, and invasive hemodynamic monitoring

• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, evidence-based care

• Interpret cardiac rhythms, lab values, and hemodynamic data to guide interventions

• Administer medications and perform complex procedures in accordance with unit protocols

• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in EMR systems

• Support patient and family education related to cardiac recovery and post-surgical care

Requirements of the Travel CVICU Registered Nurse:

• Active RN license (Illinois or compact state)

• BLS certification required

• Minimum of 2 years of recent CVICU RN experience in an acute care setting

• Strong cardiac monitoring, critical thinking, and communication skills

• Experience with post-cardiac surgery recovery and advanced hemodynamic support
