Key Responsibilities of an CVOR Surg Tech:

• Prepare the operating room for surgery by setting up and sterilizing all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies.
• Assisting the surgical team in donning sterile gowns and gloves and maintain sterility throughout the procedure.
• Prepare and position patients for surgery, ensuring comfort, proper alignment, and safety.
• Anticipate the surgeon’s needs during procedures by passing necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment efficiently and accurately.
• Maintain a sterile field by adhering to aseptic techniques and monitoring equipment functionality.
• Assist with patient monitoring, such as checking vital signs and ensuring adequate oxygen supply.
• Handle and dispose of surgical specimens according to established protocols.
• Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and biomedical equipment technicians.
• Participate in ongoing educational activities to stay updated with advancements in surgical technology and techniques.

Requirements:

• Valid Massachuestts state licensure as a CVOR Surg Tech

• Minimum of 2 years’ recent experience in CVOR

• Current BLS certification
