Key Responsibilities of the Travel Certified Surgical Technologist:

• Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, and supplies for procedures

• Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field

• Ensure proper handling and sterilization of instruments and equipment

• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to promote efficiency and safety

• Maintain accurate counts of instruments, sponges, and needles before and after procedures

• Collaborate with nurses, anesthesiologists, and other surgical staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes

• Follow all infection control and safety protocols in accordance with hospital policy

Requirements of the Travel Certified Surgical Technologist:

• Active CST certification through NBSTSA.

• BLS certification required

• Minimum of 2 years of recent CST experience.

• Alaska state license or eligibility to obtain prior to start date

• Excellent teamwork, communication, and attention to detail
