The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham (LBBD) is seeking an experienced Locum Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join their Child Protection Team on a 3-month contract. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in statutory child protection work, who can confidently manage risk and drive positive outcomes for children and families.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage a complex caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans, Child in Need Plans, and care proceedings.

Undertake thorough assessments and develop effective, outcome-focused care plans.

Complete Section 47 enquiries and participate in strategy discussions and child protection conferences.

Work collaboratively with partner agencies to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.

Prepare clear, evidence-based reports for court and attend hearings as required.

Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with statutory requirements and LBBD policies.
