Pediatric CasesExperience or ‘Must have’ skillsMust have 2-year of tech experience. Need to be aware that they will rotate through all of the specialties and MUST be able to do all of the above cases, except Cardiothoracic.Charge Nurse/House SupervisorCharge nurse on days. There is no assigned charge RN on weekends/after hours, however there is a house supervisor.Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?)Depends on current needs of the department. 12Hr shifts – typically 0630-1900. Requires flexibility to work at 0530 if surgeon’s start time is 0630. Second shift is 12Hrs starting at 0900-21308Hr shifts starting at 0630-1500, with same flexibility if surgeon start time is 0630, then shift will begin at 0530.Weeknight/Call RequirementsOn-call weekdays begins at 1800. 4-5 days a month could be less including weekendWeekend/Call RequirementsWeekends are staffed by on-call teams.On-call requirements are typically 6 -12Hr shifts from 0600-1830 or 1800-0630. 2 of the 6 shifts will be either weekend day or weekend night.
