Assists in the coordination of patient care: Assists registered nurse in planning patient care. Collaborates with other health team members. Participates in performance improvement activities. Acts in the role of support during the surgical procedure but not as a surgical assistant during the surgical procedure.2. Implements patient care: Creates and maintains asepsis. Performs scrubbing duties. Communicates patient information to the appropriate persons. Accounts for all equipment and supplies used in patient care.3.
