Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist – Emergency Department, you will:

• Serve as a clinical expert and resource in emergency care, guiding best practices and improving patient outcomes

• Lead quality improvement initiatives within the department

• Provide direct patient care for high-acuity and complex cases when needed

• Support education, mentorship, and skill development for staff nurses

• Analyze patient outcomes and implement evidence-based interventions

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to streamline protocols and procedures

• Assist with complex triage, trauma responses, and rapid decision-making in high-pressure situations

• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards

• Contribute to clinical research and continuing education efforts within the ED

Qualifications

• Active Oregon Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (Clinical Nurse Specialist or equivalent)

• Board certification as a CNS in Acute/Critical Care or Emergency Nursing (preferred)

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications

• Minimum of 3–5 years of advanced clinical experience in emergency or critical care settings

• Demonstrated leadership, teaching, and mentoring abilities

• Strong analytical, communication, and collaborative skills
