Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:o Orthopedic and spine surgeries: total knees, hips, ankles, and shoulders. o Some COPD, Pneumonia, CHF, etc.? Patient Ratios:o 1:5, occasionally 1:6? Required License, National Certification, Certs:o BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI? Skills required:o Experience with above patient types (heavy ortho), IV starts, trachs, chest tubes, dressing changeso Non-titrating drips? Support within the Department:o PCA/CNAo HUC for days and nightso RN shift coordinator + Charge RN try not to give patient assignment o Phlebotomyo IV/VAT Teamo RT 24/7o Hospitalist 24/7? Technology/Equipment:o EMR: Cernero IV Pump: Plum 360o Med dispensing: Omnicello Monitors: Phillipso Unit specific equipment: Lifts, work stations on wheels, dynamaps, glucose monitors?
