Deaconess Newburgh (IN) campus (8 miles apart) & potential to float to Deaconess Henderson (KY 11 miles). 2 HR notice given for cross campus float. Mid-shift float within same campus. Cross campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.On Call/Call Back Requirement: N/AWeekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six-week schedule. Every other holiday.Required Certs to be attached upon submittal: Must have current active compact license. AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS.Minimum Experience REQUIRED: 2 solid years Stepdown + 1 travel contract OR 5 years of solid Stepdown if no travel experienceCharting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class)Patient Population: Post procedure cardiac (cath/stents/interventions, pacers, ICD, ablation), Identify/care of STEMI/NSTEMI, Carotid endarterectomy, Sepsis, Neuro (CVAs, seizures, possible TBI), DKA.Skillset: Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation (TRAVELERS REQUIRED TO PASS TELE TESTS), post heart cath care (fem./TR bands), initiate/titrate drips (Cardizem, Amio, cardene, nitro, Insulin, Heparin), NIHSS/strong neuro assessments, sepsis care, chest tubes, PIV insertion. Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills! Unit Information: 19 beds, blended unit (8 designated Stepdown bed, 11 MS/T)Ratio: Days 1:5-6; NOCs 1:4; CN will take patients. Stepdown RNs will take MS/T patients.Unit Strengths: The manager opening this unit has been with Deaconess over 20+ years and had the lowest turnover in the organization for 2024.Scrub Colors: Navy blue scrubs – No competing health systems or agency logos* 3 call-ins can result in termination **** Teaching hospital, may require precepting of students & new hires ***Covid-19 Vaccine Not Required — Subject to changeGSA hours are not guaranteed the week of Orientation.
