Units are specialized by cancer diagnosis.Floating to MedSurg and PCU Oncology units including: BMT Acute Leukemia Hematology Medical Oncology PCU Oncology Gynecological Oncology Urology Colorectal Surgical Oncology Corrections Healthcare-Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fallsCertifications required: ACLS BLS NIHSSStaffing ratios – PCU is 1:3, can be 1:4 w/ mixed acuity, M/S Tele ideally 1:4 but can be 1:5Weekends – variable based on unit needsNo set/blocked scheduling as that is not something we offer our permanent staffSelf-schedule requests – you will enter your schedule requests so we can see your preferred schedule before balancing and posting the final scheduleFirst week of orientation is Mon – Fri dayshift. All candidates who are currently outside the state of Ohio but within driving distance will be required to drive to a fingerprinting location in Ohio as soon as possible after booking. Travelers who are extreme distances from Ohio will be mailed a fingerprinting packet, which is to be completed urgently upon receipt. Detailed instructions will be sent to the candidate by the Credentialing team. RTO required with submission, must be built into contract Locals are accepted at the same rate Reference Requirements: 2 professional references are required. At least 1 reference must be from a manager/director or someone in a formal leadership capacity (e.g., a supervisor). Charge RN acceptable for 2nd reference. No coworker references accepted. Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location RNs- must have valid compact or state license in hand at time of submission. MRI techs – submittals without OH license are acceptable. Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
