Average patients/day? 18-21 Minimum Years of Experience required? 6 months Will you accept a first-time traveler? No, travelers must have completed at least one travel assignment with the agency that is submitting them Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Adolescent- typically ages 14-18 SI/suicidal attempts, self-injurious behaviors, ODD, bipolar, aggressive, psychosis, DJJ (detention), state guardian (difficult placements) Aggressive patients, frequent peer to peer altercations Patient Ratios: Desired- 2 RNs per unit, Minimum- 1 RN per unit (please ensure candidate is comfortable with possibility of being only RN on full unit) 2-3 MHTs (desired, but not guaranteed) Required License, National Certification, Certs: BLS, CPI obtained on site (physical program- must be able to take a patient safely from standing to seated to supine positions) Skills required: Deescalation Soft skills: Patience, compassion, not taking things from patients personally Comfortable with physical holds is a must, verbal deescalation the gold standard, seclusion and or mechanical restraints if indicated for safety IM injections Recognizing increased agitation proactively Manage multiple escalated patients at the same time Manage multiple events of s/r at the same time Support within the Department: Leadership is highly supportive of employee safety and willing to condense units or implement operational changes as needed to maintain safety. Program Coordinator: provides organized activities and leads non-licensed groups Desired- 4 MHT, Minimum- 2 MHT Support within the facility Therapist Case Managers Security on campus Dedicated code response resources include transponders, five designated response team members, security support, and 24/7 video monitoring staff who can initiate assistance or call codes from off-unit. Technology/Equipment: EMR: Cerner Med dispensing: Omnicell Unit specific equipment: Restraint bed, restraint chair, seclusion rooms Floating: If yes, where? Yes, could float to children to adults, anywhere through facility. Any age could be present on unit, depending on how patients are needed to be separated for that shift Candidates should be comfortable floating throughout the unit and open to schedule/shift flexibility, understanding they may not remain on the same unit or shift consistently. Orientation (facility and unit): NEO 3 12h shifts of unit orientation Weekend rotation: Every third weekend On call?
