Description: Specialty: PedsFacility: HCA HealthONE Presbyterian St. Luke’sState License: COCerts/Licenses: Years of Experience: 2Shift: 07:00-19:00Guaranteed Hours: Description: Description:SEASONAL – TRAVEL – RN – PEDS (643) – Presbyterian MC – 7A-7P Unit Information: Peds Care 64316 Location: RMHC @ P-SLMC Address: 1719 East 19th Ave Denver CO Floor: 4th Floor Building: C Building General Information Tell us about the unit(s): Number of Beds 36- all private rooms with parent sleeping accommodations Number of Staff 60 Type of staff: Day Shift 1 charge (patient free), 1-3 PCTs (CNA s), occasionally a Clinical Nurse Coordinator as extra resource- typically 4 days a week Night Shift – 1 charge (patient free), 1-2 PCT s, occasionally a Clinical Nurse Coordinator as resource typically twice a week or as staffing allows. Patient Ratios Mixed care- step down patients (spinal fusions, chest tubes, high flow oxygen. We do not do any CPAP, BiPAP or trach/vents in the department, they all go to PICU) are staffed 1:3 and basic care patients are staffed 1:4 Type of equipment – Phillips Monitors EMR – Meditech Typical hiring profile Skill Set Most recruited for: (Travel RNs, local CNAs and sitters) Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. 2 years Peds acute care experience- must be comfortable with high flow oxygen, spinal fusion, chest tubes Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first. Will not put new travelers- first contract- on day shift, they must be willing to do night shift. Candidates with multiple years experience in traveling are first to be considered. List typical procedures performed on unit(s): NGTs, Foleys, TP Tubes, PIVs, phlebotomy (we do have an accuvein in the dept) Rare- but can occur occasionally- LP s. She communicates with the travelers about their requests at the same time of the full time employees putting in their requests. The travelers do not just fill holes we try to make a good schedule for them too. We take everything at our hospital and department except for trauma and burns.
