Previous travel experience of one assignment is required. Two years of experience is required for the PICU. For IMCU, all candidates must have some PICU experience due to floating. 2-5 years of clinical experience in the specialty is required. Floating is required within the ICU cluster (NICE, PICU, Burn PICU, IMCU). Travelers are first to float. Nurse/Patient Ratios: PICU; 1:1-2, IMCU 1:3-4Ancillary Assistance: CNA/PCT Yes. 1-2 PCTS per shift. Advanced Practice is on the units. In PICU, there are Residents, Fellows and Attending MDs. In 3C IMCU, there are Hospitalist until 11PM, then Residents. RNs should expect 2-3 days of orientation and specialty testing for the facility. ACH Dress Code must be followed and is available in Client Documents on the Compliance tab of this requisition. EMR is EPIC and Pyxis is the medication system. Schedule is manager/scheduler driven and every other weekend is required. No on call; holidays are required, as needed. Patient population (diagnoses): PICU – Respiratory distress, CRRT, ECMO, post arrest, trauma (blunt & penetrating), neuro, surgical post-ops, urology, ortho, ENT (trach revision, occasional cleft lip/palate), burns if intubated & < 13 years, new onset DKA, etc.IMCU Unit will typically see respiratory distress, DKA, chronic vents, trach s & any other diagnoses that have been stepped out of the PICU.Visitation details: 2 parents can stay @ the bedside Patient Schooling Process: Child Life & Education specialists actively involved in evaluating each patient for unique school/education needs during prolonged hospitalizationPost-Op Cardiac: In the CVICU Transplants: RenalEquipment: Pyxis with bar code scanning, pharmacy dose, GE Dash, Servi I and long term vents in the IMCUTransport system in houseECMO in CVICURTs and RNs manage ventilators Requisition Comments and Notes:Unit 3CIMU PICU is a 26 bed unit, IMCU is 13.
