ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification preferred Experience Required:Must have 2+ years RN experience, including 1 year in Oncology.Unit Description:Renown Regional Medical Center’s Cancer Nursing Unit is a 27 bed unit, each room equipped with their own computer. The floor has a mixture of oncology patients, as well as medical surgical patients. Primary patient population are direct admits for chemotherapy and/or are admitted for complications due to their disease process. Various chemotherapies/immunotherapies and regimens are administered, including but not limited to, HD Methotrexate, induction and consolidation for Leukemias, Rituximab, R-EPOCH, R-CHOP, etc. The unit has the capability of remote telemetry monitoring – Tele testing and ACLS are not required.Additional Comments:Travelers may be required to float to the needs of the organization up to their competency level.Will be required to pick up one additional shift during schedule period.Renown has the right to call off, without penalty, 48 hours, for low census per 13-week contract. This may be full or partial shifts.Schedule varies based upon department needs. Schedule can include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts.Holiday Requirements:Travelers must work 2 of the 3 major holidays. Eve + Day = 1 holiday.Hospital Information:Extremely busy and fast paced environment serving a 500-mile radius. Level II Trauma Center, Stroke accreditation, 800 in-patient bed hospital. The volume and pace required to work here are that of a Level I trauma center.Hiring Profile:Position PurposeThis position provides optimal patient care utilizing knowledge and skills within the context of the nursing process. The incumbent is accountable for individualized patient outcomes over an entire episode of care. The incumbent provides comprehensive nursing services to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, including their families/caregivers.Nature and ScopeThis position is challenged to diagnose and treat human responses to health problems. The incumbent must provide optimal patient/resident care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of adolescent, adult, and geriatric residents and families.Demonstrates the cognitive and psychosocial needs specific to the population to be served and meets standards of quality as measured by the unit/department age specific competency standards.This position requires a scientific knowledge base and ongoing growth and learning. When possible the family or those significant to the family are considered as part of the assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation efforts of the Registered Nurse (RN).
