Use 4 main Labor rooms, transfer to 5 PP beds, but all rooms can be labor rooms- # of OR Suites: 1- # of triage beds: 2- # of Postpartum beds: 5 (of the 9)- # of births per day, per year: Per day 1-5, per year 575-650- Do ratios follow AWHONN guidelines?: Yes- Required Certifications: NRP, BLS, ACLS- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Level II nursery- can keep 32 weeks and up. Can keep preeclampsia, HTN, BMI up to 50, GDM- Experience or ‘Must have’ skills: Teamwork, communication, providers not always in house, EPIC. Work with labor pts,C/S patients, postpartum and nursery patients. Our unit is combined, all nurses are able to care for each area.- Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes, Pitocin- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Pitocin, order set with instructions, up to 20 mu/min- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor:Majority of time, charge nurse. House Supervisor yes 24/7- Are there nurse aids/surgical techs on this unit?: Yes, OB techs- OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7?: No- 24/7 call, not always in house. – RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): CPAP, no vents for babies, transferred to SFMC- Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips?: Can do tele, read up on tele floor- EFM System:OBIX- Shifts & Scheduling: 7p-7a- 36 hours per week- Weekend Requirement: Every third- Holiday Requirement: If falls in contract time.
