Description: Specialty: NICUFacility: Gundersen Lutheran Medical CenterState License: WICerts/Licenses: Years of Experience: Shift: 12:00 PM – 0:30 AMGuaranteed Hours: Description: Neonatal Transport RN (NICU RN) 12hr D/N rotation – Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center (Main Campus) LaCrosse, WI *Traveler must have transport experience*- Contract Length: 13 weeks- Start Date: ASAP- Guaranteed Hours Per Week: 36- Shift Requirements: 12-hour day/night rotation (MRG very respectful of scheduling to give traveler time to adjust before scheduling them the opposite shift) – Primary Location: Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center- La Crosse, WI *NICU is located on our main campus in La Crosse * Float Requirements: Most of our transports would go to Madison or Rochester, as well as picking up babies from rural hospitals and bringing to Emplify Health.- On Call/Call Back Requirements: None- Weekend/Holiday Requirements: Every 3rd weekend & Every 3rd holiday- Required License: WI RN, IA RN & MN RN license (all RN license must be perm – will not accept temp license), AHA BLS & NRP required. AHA PALS, STABLE & CNPT preferred *Facility is willing to wait for perm MN license to post*- Education: Associates Degree in Nursing required. Bachelor degree preferred. – Minimum Experience: 5+years as an RN. 3+ YRS of NICU experience required. Looking for someone who can perform transport responsibilities and has previous experience. *Traveler must have transport experience – HARD STOP**These individuals would primarily be working in our NICU most of the time as our current average is about 4 transports per month, mostly air, however the team is smaller thus we need the support and individuals that are able and capable of transport and have that previous experience. – Unit Information: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Level III. has 18 beds and one neonatal operating room providing a highly specialized, family-centered environment for our tiniest and most vulnerable patients.- Patient Population: Will care for critically ill or premature newborns (22 weeks gestation and greater) by providing specialized medical treatment and respiratory support, monitoring vital signs and administering medications.- Scrub color: Navy blue bottoms, white or black topGSA is not guaranteed orientation week. Traveler is guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays where unit is closed.Billing: Monday – Sunday **candidate must start medical portion of compliance within 48 hours of accepted offer, or 24 hrs for a quick startSkills required: As a nurse in the NICU, you ll need keen assessment skills and critical thinking skills as you collaborate in care decisions with an interdisciplinary team. Key duties and proficiencies include: Bedside procedures, such as starting IVs and completing medication calculations and administration Neonatal resuscitation Partaking in air and ground transports with the Neonatal Transport Team Supporting patients and families in end-of-life care REQUIRED EDUCATION:Associate Degree or Certificate PREFERRED EDUCATION:Bachelor’s Degree HOLIDAY ROTATION REQUIREMENTS:Every 3rd holiday SHIFT NOTES:12-hour day/night rotation
