Med/Surg RN. PRIOR TRAVEL EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED FOR ALL CENTRA POSITIONS! 12HR Day Shift – E/O weekend required – *** May have to occasionally float to ICU to take med surg overflow patients. *** – BLS Required – ACLS and NIHSS Preferred – Cerner Exp. preferred Active VA / Compact License Required at time of submission; No drips on this unit, titrated heparin infusion is rare, dialysis performed on floor and dialysis nurses complete the dialysis treatments, no peds, RNs will need to be able to read tele strips and need ortho experience. Patients may have central lines. There is a nurse driven foley removal protocol. RNs administer MDIs (inhalers). We maintain patients on CPAP or BiPap. For home BiPap and CPAP, the RN may assist the patient to place the mask and press the start button. We do not have an IV team. We do use the iceman with hip and knee total joints. Wound vacs, accuchecks, respiratory treatments. For recruitment purposes – Client requires all credentialing submitted 1 week prior to start. All RTO must be submitted and approved prior to acceptance. Centra accepts approved declinations for Covid/Flu. No local traveler under 60 miles will be accepted. Client can cancel up to 36 hours per assignment due to census. – Centra is a teaching hospital and YOU will work and encounter students and new hires often. We expect all team members, including travelers, to contribute to a culture of support, particularly when interacting with students and new hires.
