OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned – they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated * * Department: Med Surg*Certifications: BLS*- Beds: 42- Ratios: 1:5-6- How often are staff taking a 1:6 ratio?: At least once a week – Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Medical, surgical, and orthopedics- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes- Any titratable drips?: NO, except Heparin- RT available and what equipment? (has only worked with RT doing all setup): RT is 24 hours on the floor- Tele on the floor at all, central tele (any monitor techs)?: Yes Tele’s on the floor, but we have a centralized Tele station.- Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes- 1:10-12- Shifts & Scheduling: 0630-1900, 1830-0700- Weekend Requirement: As needed- Holiday Requirement: As needed- Is there Call or a Standby requirement?: No- Floating Requirements: PCU or Burn- Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided?: Navy blue- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: First week is classroom and then 2-12 hour shifts on the floorRadius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract).
