Description: Specialty: Med SurgFacility: Mary Lanning HealthcareState License: NECerts/Licenses: Years of Experience: 2 year(s)Shift: 12H NightsGuaranteed Hours: 36 hours per weekDescription: Unit Notes:Department: MedSurg* 50 mile radius for all travelers *- # Beds: 30 all private, average census 20.- Nurse : Patient Ratios: 1:4-6- Required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Dementia, post surgical, falls, influenza, pneumonia, failure to thrive, cancer patients, COVID.- Experience: Chest tubes-preferred experience, pain management, TPN, CBI, wounds. Charge nurse experience would be a plus but not required.- Are RNs required to titrate drips:No- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor?: Charge nurse- will take patients. May have to work charge if they have the experience.- Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: Yes, generally have 2-3.- RT Equipment: Yes- CPAP with RT to manage.- Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit?: Tele on the floor. Monitor techs will read.- Shifts & Scheduling: 12 hours 7-7. No self scheduling- do work with travelers on block scheduling (accommodate as much as possible). Travelers will fill in gaps of first schedule.- Weekend Requirements: Generally every 3rd weekend but may be more based on need- they just ask for flexibility.- Holiday Requirements: Every 3rd holiday- please expect to work one of the winter holidays.- Is there call or a standby requirement?: No requirement. Will only give if they have requested to have their scheduled shift off or if they volunteer to cancel.- Floating Requirements: can float to PCU-taking MedSurg overflow or very low acuity PCU patients.- Scrub Color/Dress Code: Any solid color- no pattern/design.- Unit/Department specific orientation: Two days of nursing department orientation and one day on the floor. Cancellation Policy:Client is able to cancel up to 24 hours per 13 weeks at no cost to the client Charting System:EPIC BSN Required: License to Submit:Yes Trauma Level: Care Setting:Acute Division:Nursing Shift Notes: Required Certifications:BLS
