Description: Specialty: Med SurgFacility: North Carolina Specialty HospitalState License: NCCerts/Licenses: Years of Experience: 1 year(s)Shift: 12H Nights 7p-7aGuaranteed Hours: 36 hours per weekDescription: Unit Notes:Med-Surg Unit- # Beds: 23- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:04- Required certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?): BLS ACLS PALS- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Surgical patients (ortho, general, spinal, gender reassignment)- Experience or ‘Must have’ skills: 1 year, must have tele experience, must be able to read strips, must be comfortable with cpap/bipap. Critical patients are sent to a larger hospital. – Are RNs required to titrate drips?: No- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: N/A- Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: Yes, RN’s read strips- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: No- Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: Yes ratio is 1:12- RT Equipment (i.e., Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, vents, etc.): BiPap, Cpap- Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 12 hour shifts, 3 days per week. Shifts are 7-730- Weekend Requirement: Occasionally/ as needed.
