Unless peds experience, travelers will not take Facility requires clinical prescreen. If recommended, the hiring manager has 24-hours to accept/decline this candidate. They will not call for a 2nd phone interview. Department: Med Peds | RN- # Beds: 20- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5-6 days and nights.- Required certifications: BLS. Pals preferred. – Common diagnoses: COPD, PN, DVT, simple surgeries- appe, chole, bowel surgeries, SBO. DM. No back/spine/strokes. Peds, Cysto- CBI. PD on the unit (will train). Peds- respiratory- RSV, bronchiolitis (HFNC) Bili, FTT, Appe, fractures, pain control.- Experience: Peds experience preferred. One year okay. First time traveler okay. – Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes- per protocol. – Common titratable: Heparin, octreotide, protonix. – Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit: Medical tele. Nurses verify strips. Central monitoring tech monitors and reads.- Charge Nurse: Team leader (free of patients) during the week. Charge on nights- takes patients. Charge on weekends also takes patients.- Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: Yes, 1:10-15. Check blood sugars, ADLS, Vitals.- RT Equipment: CPAP/BIPAP/HFNC- kids and adults. Continuous bipap would not be on this unit. Respiratory manages.- Shifts & Scheduling: 12 hours 5-530. Set up scheduled. Try to accommodate block schedule. First schedule may be plugging into where they needs are.- Weekend Requirement: Every other.- Holiday Requirement: Expected to work if the need is there. Rotating.- Is there Call or a Standby requirement?: No- Floating Requirements:First to float. Must be okay with floating. Tele/ortho neuro/ Rehab.
