Each zone covers a 60 mile radius from the zone’s city center which is where the 60 mile verbiage comes into play. Does the charge nurse take an assignment?Designated Charge on each unit; doesn’t take a patient assignment unless necessary; more common for night shift charge to end up with a small pt assignment- Are there nurse aids on this unit/RatiosNone; For sitter needs only – RT in ICU 24/7″Designated RT for ICU- but may not be on the unit 24/7; – RNs expected to be able to assist in troubleshooting and managing respiratory needs. “- RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc)Vents, Cpap, Bipap, High Flow; Breathing treatments – Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?No monitor tech; RNs are expected to read and interpret their own tele – Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling?
