Type of Patients on Unit: Labor & Delivery Personality Fit: Work well in team environment but also work independentlyDress Code: Scrub Color: Black Any unacceptable attire: DescriptionComfortable floating between Antepartum, L&B Strong skills caring for 2 patients – L&B 3-4 patients on Antepartum L&B Level 3 NICU Level 4 Acute care high volume deliveries at 8,000/year Qualifications: Active Registered Nurse (RN), Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery / Labor & Birth experience in an acute care hospital setting, Demonstrated ability to independently manage laboring patients, including high risk obstetric cases Strong skills in: Fetal monitoring and interpretation Labor support and coaching Medication administration and IV therapy Obstetric emergencies and rapid response Experience working in a team based, high acuity environment Excellent communication, critical thinking, and time management skills Ability to adapt quickly to new workflows, policies, and electronic medical records Certifications: Job Summary: The Agency Labor & Birth (L&B) Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to laboring, delivering, and immediate postpartum patients in a fast paced, high acuity hospital setting. This role requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to work independently, and experience managing routine and high risk obstetric patients. The L&B RN collaborates closely with obstetric providers, anesthesia, NICU, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, evidence based, and patient centered care throughout the labor and birth process.
