It is located a floor below our unit. We do not circulate at this time. We care for the baby in the PACU and we do fundal checks on the mom while in PACU.- # Triage beds: none- # Postpartum beds: 10- # Births: 430/year- Ratios: AWHONN staffing ratios- Required Certifications: NRP, ACLS, PALSCommon diagnoses/Types of patients:earliest gestation we’ll deliver is 32 weeks- Experience or ‘Must have’ skills: 2 years minimum experience, must have previous experience with laboring and postpartum patients. Must Have: On our unit we care for laboring and postpartum patients. We have pediatrics, Med Surg (hysterectomy, mastectomy, cosmetic surgeries) we also get overflow Med Surg patients.- Are RNs required to titrate drips?: We can titrate insulin in laboring patients, titrate Magnesium and Pitocin.- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: These are programmed in our IV pumps- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: There is a charge nurse on every shift. We have an inhouse nursing supervisor 24/7. The charge nurse does take an assignment.- Nurse Aides/Techs: There is one PCT on night shift. The PCT can take blood sugars.- OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7?: There is a NNP in house 24/7. In-house OB variable.- Anesthesia in house 24/7?: CRNA coverage inhouse 24/7. They are for OB only.- RT Equipment: RT attends all c/s deliveries. RT is not designated to OB only, they are used throughout the hospital. We have bubble cpap. RT will administer treatments.- Tele Expectations: We have telemetry on the unit.- EFM System: GE.- Shifts & Scheduling: 7-7 hours. Shift leads are in charge of the schedule, but some self scheduling is involved.- Weekend Requirements: Staff works every third weekend. Weekends for day shift are Saturday Sunday. Night shift – Friday Saturday.- Holiday Requirements: Holiday availability preferred for travelers.- Call/Standby: Standby varies with census. There is a rotation for staff call off shifts.- Floating Requirements: Can be floated to Med Surg units.
