The Registered Nurse is expected to perform their duties according to established standards of care and the core values established by the Division of Nursing. Reports to assigned Unit Director. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: STANDARDS OF CARE Nursing Process Assessment ** 1. Performs assessment/data collection in an ongoing and systematic manner, focusing on physiological, psychological and cognitive status of patients. Diagnosis ** 2. Analyze assessment data to determine appropriate nursing diagnoses. Outcome Identification ** 3 Identifies appropriate expected outcomes individualized to the patient. Planning ** 4. Formulates a goal directed plan of care, which is prioritized and based on determined nursing diagnosis and patient outcomes. ** 5. Identifies patient/significant other learning needs and implements appropriate measures to meet these. Implementation ** 6. Implement care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent and continuous manner. ** 7. Performs documentation duties on unit and in patient record, which is timely, accurate and concise. Evaluation ** 8. Evaluates effectiveness of self, care given by all health care team members, and contribution of systems, environment, and instrumentation in progressing patient toward outcomes PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE Quality of Care ** 9. Functions with an awareness and application of safety issues as identified within the institution. ** 10. Performs efficiently in emergency patient situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate people, and documenting events. ** 11. Demonstrates effective communication methods and skills, using lineUnit Description: The GI RN works with Outpatients and Inpatients at both campuses and takes calls for Endoscopy. Will take OR nurse who has Endoscopy Training/ experience or sole focus on Endoscopy.Day/evening shift 0630 to 1500 or 0800 to 1630 variable Takes call as needed usually once a week and every 6th weekend unless there are call offs or person wants to pick up more. Able to switch with team members as needed if providers and team/unit know when call coverage is altered and does not leave openings in coverage.
