Candidates will not be able to start an assignment until they have passed this onsite administered test. Should they fail, candidates will have one opportunity to re-test, a second failure will result in contract cancellation and all applicable fees will be enforced.Floating between departments and or local locations within 20 miles is required.Job Summary:.-Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift.-Ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients.-Provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses.-Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient/family and healthcare team.-Initiates, utilizes, and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care.-Administers medication and treatments as prescribed by physician or standard protocols and documents according to policy.-Identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the episode of care.-Assumes responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.-Completes patient population/age-specific/procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.Skills: Required Skills & Experience: -Two (2) years current experience required in large ED. -Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to fast paced environment. -Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment. Preferred Skills & Experience: -Epic experience preferred, but not required; can train on-site.Education: Required Education: –One of the following is required:-Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN).-Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).Preferred Education: -N/A Required Certifications & Licensure: -State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License. -BLS, ACLS, PALS and NIHSS certifications required. -BLS, ACLS, and PALS must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross. -Traveler must pass the BCA testing during first week of assignment.
