Patients present with urgent and non-urgent conditions but are typically more stable than the emergency room population. Most patients will be discharged home from the ICC, but some will be admitted into the James. ICC sets appointments for patients based off calls they received from the patient s primary team or oncologist. These patients may be coming from another area of the hospital, such as radiation or infusion, or may be coming directly from home. This is a smaller unit, leading to strong relationships between staff members and a supportive environment for staff. Nurses get the opportunity to develop numerous skills and create relationships with James patients in a less acute setting.Patient Diagnoses:Sickle Cell CrisisFeverAbdominal painUncontrolled painAnemiaNausea, vomiting, dehydration Modified Time:1/12/2026 12:00:00 AM Account Manager: Ashley Schendel Account Manager Email: Ashley.Schendel@ayahealthcare.com COVID-19 Vaccine: Not Required Flu Vaccine: Required – Medical Exemptions Only Submittals:High Job Requirements & Qualifications Previous Charge Experience : – Years of Experience : 2 Patient Ratio Experience : 3-4 Charting System Experience : Required Charting System Name : Epic Community Hospital Experience : – LTAC Experience : – Trauma Level I Experience : – Trauma Level II Experience : – Travel Experience Required : – Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS*Skills : Abdominal pain, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, CPAP/BiPAP*, Emergency Medications*, General Emergency Department-Combined Adult/Pedi*, Hyperglycemia, Identifying and reporting abuse, Infections, Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)*, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Isolation Precautions, IV vasopressors*, Level I Trauma Center*, Level II Trauma Center*, Management of dysrhythmias, Management of patient with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, Non Trauma Emergency Department*, Obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG, Phlebotomy, Respiratory infections, Seizures, Sickle cell crisis, Starting and maintaining IVs, Stroke Certified Facility*, Urinary tract infections Unit Details Staffing & Scheduling Scheduling Type : Other Patient Ratios Days : – Patient Ratios Nights : – Patient Ratios Weekends : – Float Required : to ED Call Required : – Weekend Coverage : False Number of Weekend Shifts Per Contract : Per needs of unit Pre-Approved Time Off : – Orientation Hours : 76 Facility & Patient Care Details Patient Age Groups : Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics Daily Census : 14 Number of Visits Per Day : 14 Number of Rooms : 14 Number of Beds : 14 Additional Unit Information Interdisciplinary Support : IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy Patient Diagnoses : ICC is a unique unit that sees a variety of patients.
