When submitting candidates include at least two references (one must be from current manager), a resume, and completed skills checklist/competency assessment. Job Summary: Shifts: Four 10-hr shifts. Shifts may fluctuate to fulfill department staffing needs. Weekends (Fri-Sun; 0630-1900)/On call, and holidays may be required (per staff rotation). Travelers are first to float within facility and to alternate locations within 20 miles of permanent assigned location. Traveling pairs are not guaranteed same schedules or same shifts. Orientation: 1st week of the contract, not to exceed 40 total hours, and includes EPIC training. Scrubs: Required and provided by the facility. Essential Duties: -Minimal congenital pediatrics may be required. -Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift. -Ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients. -Provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses. -Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient/family and healthcare team. -Initiates, utilizes, and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care. -Administers medication and treatments as prescribed by physician or standard protocols and documents according to policy. -Identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the episode of care. -Assumes responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and other non-licensed assistive personnel. -Completes patient population/age-specific/procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.Skills: Required Skills & Experience: -Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment. -Minimum two (2) years current experience required in Cardiothoracic surgery. -Must be able to scrub. -Must be a team player, flexible and accustomed to fast paced environment. Preferred Skills & Experience: -EMR: EPIC experience preferred but not required; will train on-site.Education: Required Education: One of the following is required: -Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN). -Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN). Preferred Education: -N/ARequired Certifications & Licensure: -State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License. -BLS required. -BLS (and ACLS, and PALS if obtained) must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
