Specifically CABG, Valve Repair/Replace, Aneurysm repair, aortic dissection repair, LVAD, Heart transplant, lung transplant, thoracic surgery, STEMI, NSTEMI, Cardiogenic shock, Heart failure, arrythmia management. Special Procedures/Unit Details : CVCT ICU is a dynamic unit within University Hospital at UW Health. With 27 private rooms each capable of ICU level care. The nursing team for each shift is comprised of 2 Care Team Leaders (charge RN’s), 1 Rapid Response Nurse, and 16 RNs in direct patient care assignments. The CTL’s and Rapid nurse have standard work outside of a patient assignment on the unit, however, are utilized as a resource for the team navigating the complexities of a shift. Nurses on CVCT ICU typically will care for 1-2 patients in an assignment, however they may be assigned 3 general care patients if acuity on the unit is low, and staffing resources are limited. The team is rounded out by 4 nursing assistants during the day/evening and 3 overnight. In addition, a Unit Clerk is on the unit from 0700-2330 M-F and 0700-1930 Sa/Su. CVCT ICU is a dynamic unit with a wide range of acuity. Staff assignments often change throughout a shift as patients are transferred out of the ICU and new patients are welcomed in as both a planned admission from the OR, or unplanned admit from ER, referring facility, or the community. Planned and emergent procedures are frequently taking place on the unit. Staff are well supported in these activities with 2 charge RN’s and a resource frequently available to assist.Ensure care is delivered with a mixture of technological expertise and a positive commitment to meeting patient and family needs. Be an integral part of a team that provides care for patients requiring specialized care for cardiac and thoracic surgeries and procedures, heart and/or lung transplants and various medical devices. Special Equipment : CRRT(NxStage), IABP, Impella, HM3 LVAD, ECMO, Zoll Thermoguard experience requiredTraveler will be required to pass Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start. #Tier3 Travel Compliance RTO Requirements : Manager will review/approve during candidate review process. Generally, no more than 2 weeks off in a contract. If the request is more than 1 week and is consecutive (no hours in the week), Vaya will add 1 week at the end of the contract. Generally, all job postings will state that weekend rotations and some holidays will be required. Some units are stricter than others regarding holidays (ED allows for 1 holiday off). Floating : Travelers are the first to float. The traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs. During the traveler s assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit to complete contract. This is due to department specific orientation schedules. Travelers should follow the start date and time listed in their welcome letter and department schedule. Travelers will orient at 600 Highland Ave, room F8/170 (subject to change traveler should follow instructions in welcome letter). Orientation is typically about one week. The following criteria must be met in two attempts: Adult Exam: 100% identification of lethal rhythms: Ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole No incorrect answers on questions regarding 3 rd degree heart blocks [1 incorrect answer will cause failure] Passing score of 80% or higher Pediatric Exam Ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole, and sinus bradycardia Passing score of 80% or higher Attempts: Traveler will have two attempts to pass. If the individual does not pass on the second attempt their contract may be cancelled. If the traveler fails the second attempt they will submit a certificate of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course to Vaya before a third attempt will be assigned.
