This unit requires a minimum of 2 years CVICU experience as an RN, current experience recovering immediate post-op CABG s and TAVR s and current experience managing Swan catheters. Experience charting with EPIC is also required.12 HR Nights, EOW, EOHNavy blue scrubsUnit Specific DetailsUnit Size: 8 beds (combined within 30 bed ICU)Ratios: 1:1-3, acuity dependent. 1:1 for fresh post-op s and 1:2-3 for more stable patients.Patient Population: Cardiothoracic Surgical ICULines/Drains/Devices: Swan Catheter experience required. Impella, VAD, IABP and CRRT experience preferred.Airway: Intubated patients on ventilators.Drips: Critical drips with titration.Ancillary Staff: Limited tech support in the ICU based on census and availability. Evaluation is done through datacollection, assessment, identification, and prioritization of patient problems/needs including evaluatingprocess/outcome of nursing care, interventions, and teaching. The RN coordinates, provides, and directs patientteaching activities and coordinates the care provided by health team members. Essential Job Functions Conducts andanalyzes initial and ongoing patient assessment, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates treatmenteffectiveness. Administers medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and Bon Secours MercyHealth policies and procedures Serves as point of contact for patient’s care coordination throughout hospitaldepartments.
