Key Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory care treatments to patients with acute or chronic respiratory disorders

• Manage ventilators and monitor patient responses

• Perform diagnostic tests such as ABGs and pulmonary function tests

• Collaborate with physicians and nurses on care plans and interventions

• Respond to emergency situations, including code blues and rapid responses

• Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment

• Ensure proper documentation and adherence to hospital protocols

Qualifications

• Active RRT license (Louisiana or eligible for licensure)

• BLS and ACLS certifications required

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in hospital-based respiratory care

• Proficient with ventilator management, oxygen therapy, and critical care protocols

• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient care skills

• Ability to work independently in high-acuity settings
