Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Seven Healthcare is pleased to present an exciting permanent opportunity for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) in Council Bluffs, Iowa. This full-time position offers competitive hourly pay ranging from $38.00 to $51.70, based on experience, for three 12-hour night shifts per week.

Key Responsibilities of the PCU Registered Nurse:

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to acutely ill patients requiring close monitoring

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans

• Administer medications, IV therapies, and other prescribed treatments

• Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and patient progress closely

• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system

• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge planning

Requirements of the PCU Registered Nurse:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.

• NIH Stroke Scale training required at hire or within 6 months of hire.

• Successful completion of Telemetry Cardiac Rhythm Course.

• Successful completion of annual mandatory education requirements

• Current valid Registered Nurse (RN) License, valid compact multistate license, or a temporary permit while awaiting licensure required.

• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire.

• Preferred: core certification related to area of specialty from National Certification Corporation (NCC) within 1 year of eligibility.

• Maintain American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification. ACLS certification required within one year of employment.
