Registered Nurse – Pre Operative

Key Responsibilities
As a Pre Operative RN, you will:

• Prepare patients physically and emotionally for surgical procedures

• Conduct preoperative assessments, including health history, vital signs, and lab results

• Administer prescribed medications and provide patient education on preoperative instructions

• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams to ensure readiness for surgery

• Monitor patients for any changes in condition and intervene as necessary

• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient status in electronic health records (EHR)

• Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Active Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact license

• Current BLS certification required (ACLS preferred)

• Experience in preoperative or surgical nursing preferred

• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment
