Key Responsibilities of the MedSurg Registered Nurse
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a Medical-Surgical setting
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and other prescribed treatments
- Monitor patient conditions and vital signs, responding to changes as needed
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and recovery plans
Requirements of the MedSurg Registered Nurse
- Active Hawaii Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years’ recent experience in a Medical-Surgical setting
- Strong organizational and patient care skills
