Key Responsibilities

As Nurse Manager of the Pediatric Emergency Department, you will:

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the pediatric ER to ensure high-quality, safe patient care

• Lead and mentor nursing staff in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and administrative teams on care strategies and resource planning

• Monitor departmental compliance with hospital policies, state/federal regulations, and quality standards

• Coordinate staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and performance evaluations

• Serve as a clinical resource for pediatric emergency situations and support staff decision-making

• Drive performance improvement, patient satisfaction, and team development initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred

• 3–5 years of experience in pediatric emergency or acute care nursing

• Minimum 1–2 years of leadership or supervisory experience

• Current BLS and PALS certifications (TNCC or ENPC preferred)

• Strong communication, leadership, and clinical judgment skills

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced pediatric emergency setting
