Key Responsibilities of the ED Registered Nurse
- Provide high-quality emergency care to patients in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting
- Perform rapid patient assessments and triage based on acuity
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency treatments as required
- Monitor patient conditions and respond quickly to critical changes
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to deliver timely and effective care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions
Requirements of the ED Registered Nurse
- Active Hawaii Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (PALS preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years’ recent experience in an Emergency Department setting
- Strong critical thinking and ability to perform in high-pressure environments
