Registered Nurse Director – Surgical Services

Seven Healthcare is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Registered Nurse Director to lead the Surgical Services Department at a respected healthcare facility in San Jose, California. This is a full-time, permanent leadership opportunity for a clinical and operational expert in perioperative care who is ready to drive excellence across the surgical continuum offering $170,000 to $220,000 annually.

Key Responsibilities

As the RN Director of Surgical Services, you will:

• Provide strategic leadership for all perioperative areas, including the OR, Pre-Op, PACU, Endoscopy, and Sterile Processing

• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies

• Develop, implement, and monitor department goals, performance metrics, and quality improvement initiatives

• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and department leaders to streamline workflow and enhance patient outcomes

• Oversee departmental budgeting, staffing, and supply chain efficiency

• Lead hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development for surgical services staff

• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and clinical excellence

Qualifications

• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree (MSN, MHA, MBA) preferred

• 5+ years of perioperative nursing experience

• 3+ years of progressive leadership experience in surgical services

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (CNOR and/or NE-BC preferred)

• Deep understanding of operating room workflows, patient safety standards, and staff engagement best practices
