Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab

Key Responsibilities

As a Cath Lab RN, you will:

• Assist with diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures

• Monitor patients before, during, and after catheterization procedures

• Administer medications and manage IVs under procedural sedation protocols

• Maintain a sterile field and ensure all safety and procedural standards are met

• Document nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately

• Respond quickly to emergencies such as arrhythmias or contrast reactions

• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and cardiovascular teams

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Iowa (or compact state eligibility)

• BLS and ACLS certifications required

• 1+ year of experience in Cath Lab, telemetry, or critical care preferred

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

• Comfortable in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment

• Excellent communication and patient-centered care approach
