Registered Nurse – Behavioral Health

Key Responsibilities

As a Behavioral Health RN, you will:

• Provide direct nursing care to patients with mental health and behavioral conditions
• Conduct patient assessments, including mental status evaluations and risk assessments
• Administer medications and monitor for therapeutic and adverse effects
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the care team
• Facilitate therapeutic communication and support patients in crisis situations
• Maintain a safe and structured environment for patients and staff
• Accurately document patient interactions and progress in electronic health records (EHR)
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members

Qualifications

• Active Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) license (or compact license eligible)
• Current BLS certification required
• 1–2 years of behavioral health, psychiatric, or mental health nursing experience preferred
• Strong communication, de-escalation, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, patient-focused environment
