The volume and pace required to work here are that of level 1 trauma centerHiring Profile:Position PurposeUnder the general supervision of the Imaging Manager, this position produces optimal diagnosticimages while providing excellent patient care. The incumbent is accountable for individualizedpatient care while in the Radiology DepartmentNature and ScopeThe incumbent must provide optimal patient care through assessment, planning,implementation, and evaluation of neonatal, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients andfamilies. The incumbent must also demonstrate the ability to work with the physical,motor/sensory adaptation, cognitive, and psychosocial needs specific to the population beingserved and meet standards of quality as measured by the Unit/Department age specificcompetency standards.The incumbent must competently operate imaging equipment and related machinery, verify andexecute physicians orders for diagnostic and therapeutic exams while ensuring the properpreparation for such exams and the safety and well being of patients during procedures. Otherduties include, but are not limited to, billing, supplies stocking, file maintenance, medicalcharting, informed consent documentation, quality improvement studies, patienthistory/symptoms acquisition. Determines the best method of obtaining optimal examinationswhile ensuring patient safety; regulates patient flow, consults with Radiologists to determinecontrast media and makes necessary corrections to improve image quality.May be required to assist other modalities within the department or Renown Health System. Theincumbent is required to perform diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic radiographicprocedures of the human body utilizing radiographic principles according to the guidelinesrecommended by Merrill s Anatomy and Positioning reference manual and Renown RegionalMedical Center Diagnostic Radiographic Department Policy and Procedure manual.The Radiologic Technologist must demonstrate competency in the OR Suite, Trauma Suite andportable radiography without assistance on or before the 90 day evaluation.
