Using x-ray equipment to take radiographicimages of patients’ bones, tissues, and organs as per physicians writtenorders Explaining x-ray procedures to patients andanswering their questions. Positioning patients accordingly, which mayinclude lifting and moving patients with limited mobility. Handles all radiologic equipment safely andproperly keeping dose to patient as low as possible. Observe each patient s status and interprets theappropriate information needed to meet his or her age-specific needs. Produces a diagnostic, high quality imagefor interpretation by the Radiologist. Promptly notifying management of damaged ormalfunctioning x-ray equipment. Utilizes electronic patient information systemsto verify patient name, date, appropriate exam, and any special exam specificcomments from the provider. Understands and practices the Dual patientidentifier procedure. Maintains accurate patient record keeping byproperly identifying images and assuring images are sent to the PACS systemcorrectly.X-Ray Technologist Requirements: Completion of formal training in an approvedSchool of Radiologic Technology and maintains Certification through theAmerican Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). NYS license (or able to obtain license prior tostarting) 2 years of X-ray Technologist experience Level 1 trauma center experience Ability to move or lift patients. Ability to stand for extended periods. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective written and verbal communicationskills. A patient and compassionate disposition. Team player who can maintain a cohesive workingenvironment. Ability to report within 30 minutes to on call shift.
