Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance.\nDuties: Responsible for the delivery of radiation therapy to patients as prescribed and under the regulations of\nthe National Cance1+ Institute. Incumbents must have in-depth knowledge of high-voltage, state-of-theart\nradiation therapy equipment with safety standards and to properly maintain same. Coordinates\npatient appointments; interprets prescription and delivers radiation to patient in accordance with\nphysician’s instructions; prepares and operates all types of radiotherapy equipment, (i.e. Co-60, Linear\nAccelerator, Simulator, etc.); takes radiographic film to confirm treatment volume; performs pretreatment\nduties by operating the Simulator, for localization of tumor size and position, taking the\ncontour and collecting all physical factors for the treatment plan, taking photographs of patients for\nportal verification; assuming responsibility for providing all safety measures for patients, recognizing\nall types of radiation reactions and for providing proper care and instructions to patients; assumes\nresponsibility for compliance to departmental and regulatory policies and procedures; recording and\nmaintaining treatment records and port films; participates in the department’s in-service and\neducational programs, and coordinates departmental and in-patient activities to provide proper patient\ncare.
