Educates patient regarding procedures,equipment and exam to ensure patient’s understanding and cooperation. Positionspatient and performs imaging procedure(s). Ensures proper imaging techniquesrelated to patients age and ability to understand procedure (sight, hearingneeds, ability to cooperate) to ensure image quality is successfully obtained.Reviews patient information and interpretation of data to confirm anappropriate plan and intervention specific for age related needsand provision of care. Performs nuclear medicine imaging and therapy inaccordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with thepolicies, values, and mission of the organization. Analyzes results andidentifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate actionto resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeatingprocedure. Enters, transmits and reports scan results. Orders, prepares,administers, stores and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals according toestablished protocols and applicable regulations/standards. Monitors patientcondition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies in the Clinical Nuclear Medicinerooms.Job Requirements: – Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and certified in Nuclear Medicine (NM) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
